Today is the day people all over the country are silent. They will not speak when spoken to; they will not scream when hurt; they will not laugh when tickled; they will not growl when angry. Why?

Because today is the Day of Silence.

The Day of Silence - when everyone is not to speak - was created to honor those who have suffered. The homosexuals; the bisexuals; the transgenders; the victims of abuse, harassment, and bullying; the cutters; those who have committed suicide because their voice was not loud enough to speak out. For those whose voices are too weak to permeate the opaque shroud of society, for those whose voices could not be heard over the screaming of a thousand souls, we have created this day.

We mimic their silence so that we may scream louder than a thousand souls. We mimic their silence so that our voices may be strong enough to permeate the opaque shroud of society. We mimic their silence, so that we may make a noise louder than they ever could.

This is the Day of Silence, and this issue is real. Speak up. Speak out.

ScarsByBullying is a group dedicated to stopping bullying, but I feel that it should also bring awareness to abuse of any kind and stop those, as well. Why focus on one thing when we can focus on many? This way, we stop as much violence as possible, all in one group.

Please help us raise awareness and share this information with anyone you know, especially if they are being bullied.

It takes only one person to start a group, and with that one person it can help change  somebody's life forever, all with the power of your voice and will power to help them. Please if you know somebody who is being bullied help them. It will take them miles in life, just to know that somebody as simple at you reached out to them.
